The After Engine Room is similar in many
respects to the Forward Engine Room. It houses #3 and #4 main engines and main generators.
A cover has been removed from engine #3, exposing the upper
crankshaft and piston rods. In addition, the After Engine Room contains an auxiliary engine and generator, located below the platform deck.
Main features of this compartment include:
- Lube oil transfer pump
- Main engine inboard exhaust valves and power operated outboard exhaust valve
- Engine air induction inboard valve
- Main engine fuel and lubricating oil purifiers
- Fuel and lube oil transfer pumps
- Access hatch to topside
