The upper section of the Maneuvering compartment
houses the main propulsion control stand and electrical cubicle
built by General Electric, while the lower section of the Maneuvering Room is called the Motor Room. It contains main motors #1 & #2, which are
directly connected to the propeller shafts through reduction gearboxes. Maneuvering
was the main distribution point for electrical power throughout the boat.

Engine tachometers
Lighting motor- generator sets #3 and #4 (180-330 VDC to 120 VAC)
Engine telegraphs (maneuvering to engine rooms)
Helm telegraphs (main and auxiliary helm to maneuvering)
Battery well air flow indicators
Engine shut-down handle, located overhead, stopped all four engines at
once by shutting off fuel flow.
