
Operating levers, located at the rear of the electrical cubicle, performed the following functions:
Reverser levers are used to change the direction of rotation of the main motors by reversing the current flow through the main motor armatures. Each lever has three positions: OFF, AHEAD, ASTERN
Starter levers operate the contactors for the motor armatures. Each lever has five positions: STOP, SERIES 1, SERIES 2, PARALLEL 1, PARALLEL 2
Generator levers close contacts to complete the circuit generator shunt field and also for connecting the generator to either the battery or motor bus. There is one lever for each main generator.
Bus selector lever selected the source of power used by the main motors, generators or batteries
Battery lever connected the associated battery to the battery bus. In addition to off, it allowed either the forward battery, after battery or both to be connected.
